Weddings at Pounui Homestead

Pounui Homestead is one of Wairarapa’s premier wedding venues. Set in 33 of the most beautiful, secluded park-like acres, there are numerous options for both your special ceremony and the all-important wedding function. Along with Pounui’s own attractive gardens, the nearby “hidden” Lake Pounui and the expansive views to Lake Ferry and Wairarapa’s south coast just ten kilometres away provide exciting photographic opportunities.

Pounui’s 18x10 metre barn is the perfect space to hold your wedding function, a delightfully simple space that can be dressed to suit your requirements. With its comprehensive kitchen, convenient bar area and polished Macrocarpa floors your guests can eat, drink and dance the night away!

Many of the wonderful Wairarapa caterers are familiar with Pounui (including our local Featherston caterer Guten Appetit) and we are happy to assist with a recommendation, or you are welcome to select and contract your own.

Local accommodation options abound, and of course Pounui Cottage is located right next to the barn and can accommodate up to nine. The barn itself has a bunkroom sleeping up to 8.

Daily Venue Hire - $2000.00
Weekend / 2 day Venue Hire - $3500.00 includes accommodation for up to 15 people in the cottage & bunkroom

The Pounui Barn is also a perfect venue for corporate conferences and team-building events

And when the dancing finishes and your guests have retreated, you too can retreat across the lawn to your cottage.
