The Cottage - Accommodation at Pounui

The Cottage at Pounui Homestead is an historic Wairarapa shearers’ quarters, restored and upgraded to accommodate a party of up to nine self-catering visitors in country comfort. It is the ultimate South Wairarapa retreat accommodation for families, groups of friends, or couples looking for a romantic hideaway.

Pounui Cottage has a well-appointed family kitchen open to a large dining-living room with woodburner and outside flow to BBQ area and extensive gardens. Bedrooms feature comfy beds with quality linen and
towels supplied.

Pounui is the perfect setting for Weddings & Conferences and is ideal accommodation in the Wairarapa region being within easy driving distance of many of the Wairarapa’s activities - ballooning, canoeing, quad biking, jet boating, fishing, diving, walks, golf, wine tasting, fine dining and more. We are happy to advise you on any of these.

Pounui Cottage is only available by booking the entire house
First couple $250 per night
$50 per extra person per night
up to a maximum of $500.
2 night minimum stay
3 night minimum stay long weekends and
